a mathematical process that calculates how much Carbon Dioxide (embodied
and operational/occupational) is put into the atmosphere. Embodied
carbon is the carbon released by creating and maintaining the materials
that make up a building, whereas occupational carbon is the energy
footprint, or carbon released from the direct use of energy - energy used
to heat the building and electricity used for businesses or residents.
